Natalie is from Adelaide in South Australia.
Natalie's background has always been in the health domain having given 32 years of her life keenly dedicated to the field of Oral Health/Dentistry. She had many roles that she is very proud of. Highlights being a Clinical Tutor at the Adelaide University Department of Dentistry. Working with Professor Lindsay Richards conducting dental experiments into fluorides impact on the rate of wear of enamel. Natalie was also a clinical tutor and lecturer at T.A.F.E within Oral Health. These experiences enabled me to grow and expand into the person that I have become today.
Dentistry has given me wonderful training on so many different levels and is an amazing backbone to support my career in hypno-psychotherapy.
Why Hypnotherapy you may ask? I was led by lots of little experiences life has to offer but the biggest turning point was when I read a book by Dr Joe Dispenza titled 'Becoming Supernatural'. My understanding of this book changed my life! I acquired a different view on life, health, and my mindset including my personal power. People noticed the change in me. I was asked often, "What is going on in your life"? "Did you win the lottery"? "Your different"! They wanted to know my secret. Dr Dispenza talks about neuroscience and epigenetics, and I particularly honed in on the magic of the Theta brain wave state. My keen interest lead me to Theta Healing which I'm now a practitioner of having completed 2 levels of training. I then further investigated into other healing modalities to discover hypnotherapy, which is all about the subconscious mind and the theta brain wave state and how you can rewire/re-program your mind. Combine this with my innate desire to be of service to the community in the health field and this is how I became a hypno-psychotherapist.
What is a Hypno-psychotherapist?
A hypno-psychotherapist is like a councillor combined with hypnotherapy making it a very powerful and life-changing modality. It's so powerful because we deal with the subconscious mind. It is the hard drive of our brain where all the information is stored whether we remember it or not. Another analogy I like to use is that the subconscious part of our brain is like the 'black box' on an airplane. It's an EDR (event data recorder) All the information is recorded and stored there. So we can access this information and make the necessary fine-tuning or rewiring (creating new neural pathways) needed to create the change the client wants.
I use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and MIT (motivational interviewing technique) as well as other tools to get to the root cause of ones reason for visiting me, and then deliver powerful hypnotherapy specifically created for the client's specific needs. We are all individuals and so the hypnotherapy is written and delivered specifically for you and your needs. Hence it is very powerful. There is no cookie-cutter hypnotherapy. Every person is unique. So I apply unique interventions to get you to where you want to be. Each session is as individual as you are.
Hypnotherapy can be used in 2 ways:
Suggestion therapy: The hypnotic state makes the person better able to respond to suggestions. Therefore, hypnotherapy can help some people change certain behaviours, such as stopping smoking or bitting nails. It can also help people change their perceptions and sensations, and is particularly useful in treating pain.
Analysis: This approach uses the relaxed state to explore a possible psychological root cause of a disorder or symptom, such as a traumatic past event that a person has hidden in their subconscious memory. Once this is revealed then we can treat it with psychotherapy.
Hypno-psychotherapy can improve the success of other treatments for many conditions, including: Stress, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, phobias and fears. There are many problems under these 'headings' that we may help people with. One close to my heart is helping people conceive through assisted conception such as IVF including enhancing natural conception. There has been scientific research into the impact of hypnotherapy during embryo transfer in IVF. The results validate that it certainly does.
Result(s): We obtained 52 clinical pregnancies out of 98 cycles (53.1%) with an implantation rate of 28% among hypnosis IVF/ET cycles, and 29 out of 96 (30.2%) clinical pregnancies and an implantation rate of 14.4% in the control cycles. Our overall IVF program pregnancy rate for the same period was 32.1%. Logistic regression analysis was performed emphasizing the positive contribution of hypnosis to the IVF/ET conception rates.
Conclusion(s): This study suggests that the use of hypnosis during ET may significantly improve the IVF/ET cycle outcome in terms of increased implantation and clinical pregnancy rates. Furthermore, it seems that the patients' attitude to the treatment was more favourable.

Hypnotherapy can assist you through the stages of IVF/ICSI and even non-assisted conception. It is scientifically proven that what we think affects our internal environment. For example, stress produces cortisol and adrenaline which downgrades the quality of our internal environment (yes, inside the body, not only the mind). It is important to calm your thoughts and emotional processes down because just the lowering of stress levels can have great benefits by enhancing you on the inside making it a more favourable and beneficial environment in the way your body responds.
Think of it like this, If we see some food that we love to eat, our mouth may start to salivate. This alone proves the mind-body connection. Thoughts are not just thoughts. Thoughts are underestimated. They are extremely powerful!
Everything we have in our life....our job, our home, our life as we know it, all started from a thought. I explain that thoughts are like knitting, one stitch at a time and we inevitably create something. Whether we are mindful of it or not.
